जब तुम्हें मौका मिले, 'झाड़ी मारो'। मेडिकल कॉलेज अस्पताल में आने वाले मरीजों की शिकायत है कि उन पर विभिन्न कारणों से अनैतिक रूप से भुगतान करने का दबाव डाला जाता है। हालांकि ये अस्पताल के अंदरूनी मामले हैं. लेकिन मेडिकल कॉलेज अस्पताल में इमरजेंसी के पीछे सुविधाजनक शौचालय है. इसके खिलाफ शिकायतें की जा रही हैं.
प्रतिदिन सैकड़ों-हजारों मरीजों के परिजन अस्पताल आते हैं। जब उन्हें शौच जाना होता है तो उन्हें अस्पताल के सामान्य शौचालय का इस्तेमाल करना पड़ता है. शौच के लिए जाते समय हर किसी का हाथ सिर पर पड़ता है। उस शौचालय में शौच करने के लिए 6 टका, पेशाब करने के लिए 3 टका और स्नान करने के लिए 10 टका लगता था।
इस बीच, अस्पताल के बगल में अंडे और चावल 5 टका में उपलब्ध हैं। यानी खाने का खर्च 5 टका है, लेकिन मल त्यागने के लिए 9 टका खर्च करना पड़ता है। पहले मल, मूत्र और स्नान पर क्रमश: 2, 5, 7 टका खर्च होता था। मरीज के घर के लोग इससे असंतुष्ट होते हुए भी उसे मानने को मजबूर हैं. उन पर सफाई का भी आरोप है.
एक मरीज की रिश्तेदार मीना बीबी हावड़ा के अमता इलाके से अस्पताल आई थीं. उनके साथ दो अन्य लोग भी हैं. तीन दिन में उन्हें मल-मूत्र में करीब 150 रुपए का नुकसान हुआ। इसी तरह अन्य मरीजों के परिजनों की शिकायत है कि वे वहां मुफ्त इलाज के लिए आते हैं. क्योंकि इनकी आर्थिक अनुकूलता बहुत अच्छी नहीं होती है।
